Immigrants working illegally at Sears Tower have been arrested by federal authorities who said security concerns prompted the crackdown.
Immigration officials would not confirm the number of people arrested, their countries of origin or when the arrests were made. They said Thursday the arrests were necessary to protect the 110-story building from terrorism.
Gail Montenegro, spokeswoman for the Chicago office of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said immigrants working illegally may be law abiding but are vulnerable to being blackmailed by terrorists.
Wait...what? Blackmail?!? We're really so terribly worried about terrorists blackmailing immigrants that we have to arrest a bunch of undocumented busboys and cleaning ladies? Can someone explain to me how this is going to protect the Sears Tower from Al Qaida? Or how this benefits anyone in any way at all?

Did you see Shaft? Where John Shaft and his friends snuck into a hotel at the end of the movie, to rescue Moses Gunn's daughter from the Mafia? They were dressed as cooks and waiters in the hotel, and kept the Mafia gunmen at bay by turning a firehose on them.
Okay, now that you've got that image, substitute Al Qaida for John Shaft, Bin Laden for Moses Gunn, Donald Rumsfeld for his daughter, the Sears Tower for the hotel, the Texas Rangers for the Mafia gunmen, and WMD for the firehose.
NOW what have you got?! Terror!!!!
