From Ms. Musings: The Promise Keepers, the racist, sexist dipshit organization that wanted men to "take charge" of their families by taking power away from women, is attempting a comeback after years of dwindling membership.
When I was with Women's Action Coalition, we staged several well-organized protests against PK (including one at Soldier Field, where we dressed in 50s frocks, banged on pots and pans, and handed out flyers as 70,000 guys in golf shirts streamed past, alternately swearing at us and praying for us), and I'd love to believe that our educational efforts led to their decline. Perhaps not, but why must you destroy my dreams?

either Dan Savage or David Smader (or both) from seattle's The Stranger went to the PK's rally at the kingdome to cruise. they were somewhat successful. *shutter*

In, I believe, 1997, the Promise Keepers' big Chicago pray-a-thon was the same weekend as the International Mr. Leather festivities, and they were all booked in the same hotels. I would bet cash money that some of those Jesus boys saw the lord that weekend.
