:: [Prev] birthday recap and meme submission [Next]
Birthday weekend is almost over, and it pretty much turned out like I was hoping. I spent most of the actual day hanging out, reading, and being professionally relaxed by a team of specialists at Thousand Waves Spa. The "herbal wrap" was not, of course, a euphemism for reefer -- instead, it was a delightful mummification by way of essential-oil-soaked sheets and insulated blankets. Man, it was amazing. Basically you get yourself all warmed up in the eucalyptus steam bath (which I had to exit after about three minutes because it was way too intense for me) or the jacuzzi (ahhh, that's better), then the wrapping begins. The therapist explained to me that most people fall asleep pretty quickly at this point, but I didn't. I got to be fully relaxed and fully awake at the same time -- I can't even remember the last time that happened. Heavenly! I'm not usually one for such indulgences, but I'm totally going back. Best 60 bucks I've spent in years!
Then last night, a boisterous dinner with dear friends at my favorite Mexican joint, New Rebozo, where I ate way too much mole and flan. I even got to enjoy some of the complimentary birthday "Oh My God Ice Cream" (a tower of vanilla, rolled in Lucky Charms and drizzled with chocolate sauce and whipped cream) -- so, thanks for the Lactaid pill, Andrew!
Other than that, I don't have much else to say. So here's this thing:
Four jobs I've had:
Grocery store cashier/bottle clerk
Chain bookstore clerk
Four Movies I can watch over and over:
A Hard Day's Night
Four Places I've Lived:

Daily Show/Colbert Report
Four places I've vacationed:
Lake Worth, Fla. (the folks)
Four of my favorite dishes:

Four sites I visit daily:
Four places I would rather be right now:
In the warm ocean somewhere
Back in that herbal wrap thingy

Glad you enjoyed your herbal wrap! Sounds like something I'd like also. You can always come here for the ocean thingy.

I'm on a one-man campaign to have the word "meme" replaced by what this really is, a "questionaire". A meme is a thought, phrase or whatnot that has penetrated a culture ("All your base" is the exemplar), these are just random questions.

Wow, thanks for that vocab lesson, pedantic stranger! Good luck with your one-man mission.
