Last week, I was talking to a coworker about what Jim and I did on xmas day. We usually go see a movie, but couldn't really agree on anything to see this year. Coworker suggested we should have gone to that new Will Smith movie.

"I don't know," I said. "It sounds heartwarming. I hate heartwarming movies."

Coworker, jaw dropped in horror, replied, "I think that's the saddest thing I ever heard!" And we all had a good laugh at what a cynical killjoy I am. (It's true. I am.)

Well, coworker -- I was wrong! I saw a movie this weekend that totally warmed my heart. And all my bits.

People, you have to see this movie. I laughed and often cried my way through this wandering tale of loneliness and love and human connection in post-9/11 New York. It has something for everyone -- actual sex of all stripes (solo, duo, trio, group, gay, straight, other), friendly drag queens, marching bands, politics, art, an Ed Koch simulacrum, rousing sing-alongs, and even "The Star Spangled Banner"! Bring the whole family!

OK, maybe not. But still, you should go see it, dear reader.
