Another in a continuing series of posts about my new year's resolution to try new things in Chicago...

Today's new (to me) restaurant: Pauline's. I can't imagine why I've never been here before (our pal Phineas used to live right across the street), but it's a damn fine breakfast joint -- tacky decor, classic rock on the radio, waitresses who call you "hon," and great big plates of food for small amounts of money. I had my usual -- the scrambled eggs with potatoes and rye toast -- and it did exactly what it was supposed to: tasted yummy and filled me up for the rest of the day. Go, Pauline's!
