Jim and his mom in (slightly) happier times.

Jim's mom died yesterday afternoon after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Her diagnosis came late (stage four, metastasized to other organs) and her decline was swift and terrible. But she was strong throughout and maintained her sense of humor. We miss her. If you had ever met her, you would miss her too. She was tough and sassy and crafty -- the kind of lady you would totally dig. I totally dug her.

We are all very sad. Think happy thoughts for us, if you would be so kind.

My thoughts are with you and your husband, his sister and her husband, and your family. Even when the expected happens, it hurts. I'm sure you all were a great source of comfort and pride to Lynn.

it still does not seem real. not sure when it will. even though we all knew it was coming-it just does not see real....i will just pretend she is shopping now with my mom!! they aren't gone....they are shopping!!
