My birthday gift to Jim
Originally uploaded by rubbernun
I got two cases of personalized Jones cream soda for Jim's birthday party last night. Some people took bottles home as souvenirs. Because who would not want this forever, I ask you!

I think the party went well. We had about 30 of our nearest and dearest here enjoying homemade cookies, traditional Hawaiian plate lunch, a fantastic chocolate-raspberry torte, and the company of a certain foxy 40-year-old fella.

I'm never confident about my ability to entertain. I fret and second-guess and freak out beforehand, then convince myself afterwards that everyone was miserable. But last night we had a house full of people till midnight, and the rooms never stopped buzzing with conversation and laughter. I felt relaxed and happy all night, and I'm still all warm and friendly (if a little hoarse from all the talking) today. We even have some leftovers -- including a couple slices of the torte -- for dinner as well. Good times.

I Confess: I too have worried about my Hostess Quotient. But Sister, personalized Jones Soda is beyond reproach! :) Glad you had a blast.

I don't think you have any need to worry about your hostess skills. But I say that knowing full-well that I'm convinced before every party we throw that no one is actually going to come, or they'll come and it will be The Worst Party Ever because I forgot to wash the ice tongs or something ridiculous like that. So you're not alone, but you guys are great. Thanks for the invite. Twas a great way to spend a Saturday night.
