Mr. Jimmie and I spent the afternoon with some of our Internet pals at a holiday cookie exchange for Chicago-area posters on Salon.com's Table Talk discussion forum. (Table Talk is, of course, how Mr. Jimmie and I first met 11 years ago.) We ate lots of cheese and cookies and got to meet a few people in person for the first time. A lovely day of laughter and sugar, with a take-home box of more sugar. Also there was a friendly dog.
